The Handa red brick building was built in 1898 (Meiji 31) as a Kabuto beer manufacturing factory. It is said to be one of the top five brick buildings in Japan, which is built during the Meiji period. Opened in 1966 as an open-air museum that preserves and exhibits Meiji architecture. The number of buildings that have been relocated and restored exceeds 60. A neo-baroque style brick building built in 1922 (Taisho 11). It was used as a courthouse until 1979, and currently serves as the Nagoya City Archives, where the city's administrative documents and materials are stored and made available to the public.
